I'm back with a new topic to spank you all into submission. Feel free to post things about DP you don't think very many people know, or don't post and keep your secrets to the deathbed.
I'll start off with this: The portal in Aloazar actually used to go somewhere! I believe it went to a ruined temple in DZ, if you said some word backwards (NATAS??).
And yes, that's the best I got (for now..).
Roland Deschain — Sun Apr 25, 2004 11:53 pm
It went to Xixi, and the word was kalinistra or something similar
Vargus — Mon Apr 26, 2004 12:17 am
Ah yeah. Didn't the DZ ruined temple used to go somewhere? What do I know, this was all before my time.
Vargus — Mon Apr 26, 2004 12:22 am
Ok, since I posted a lame bit of info the first time around, here's a keeper. There's a way to get from the eastern desert to the western desert through the sandstorm. [Twisted Evil] I discovered it once on accident, and I found the route after trying again, but I don't recall what it was. I -think- it may have been in the northern part of the sandstorm, sort of where you get to glyphar, and it comes out on the very top of the eastern side of the sandstorm? Ahh, it's been too long.
Aidan — Mon Apr 26, 2004 12:43 am
that does us no good! [Twisted Evil]
Fred Sanford — Mon Apr 26, 2004 2:07 am
I remember just like I was the only person to know how to git to paphoset after they made the sandstorm elemental damage [Razz] But I ain't tellin cuz I'm a smug asshole. Sorry this is my anger talking for letting me flood the newbie population with flails while in my multitude of glyphar kills I've never got any.
Oh! Liz'beth! I'm comin to join ya, honey!

It only took you a 4 crews to eventually take Ssyz down. You guys are "lucky" he doesnt loot.
Hyperion — Mon Apr 26, 2004 6:59 pm
Doesnt matter how it gets done, as long as it gets done.
Whistler — Mon Apr 26, 2004 7:32 pm
I was told the DZ temple was once the portal to L'cath, and the password was NATAS. It has not worked in my time, so this information is dubious at best.

Post subject: Serapis hideout...
There is a room in the forest that Serapis created in rememberance of certain "events" shared with his beloved, Tresia. It's not directly accessible to mortals, but possibly one could retsu/shift to it.

Post subject: Assassins
There's also a room in one of the towns that, given the right circumstances, allows you to hire an assassin and set them hunting your fellow adventurers. [Smile]
Roland Deschain — Tue Apr 27, 2004 9:05 am
Yeah, you removed it though. And I apparantly cormando, the blonde vixen, and the other two guys aren't around anymore. It was in the thieves' guild in KD.
Orodreth — Tue Apr 27, 2004 10:55 am
Fun fact: I named Cormando after a character I saw in an arcade game that was in the laudrymat I used to use in Manassass Virginia. He was one of 4 cowboys that you could control when you hunted down the bad guys. Cormando with his big ass boom stick. That was 1997.

back to the topic at hand: little known DP facts...
everyone has seen mobs gossip "evil will always triumph, because good is dumb"
correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was "borrowed" from a mud serapis and (I think) frontline used to frequent, thunderdome
and the original quote, believe it or not, is from dark helmet in the movie space balls [OOO]
yes, that's right, you heard it here first. there is a SPACE BALLS quote in dark pawns
