Release v0.1.4 · macOS, Linux & Windows · Just want to play here?

Install the game

Open a terminal and paste the command. The installer checks the release’s publisher signature and archive checksum, then opens the setup wizard.

Uses curl, OpenSSL, and tar. No administrator rights or compiler needed.

Windows installer (PowerShell 5.1 or newer)

Open PowerShell, then copy and paste the complete command.

Make it yours

  1. Choose a home for the world. The wizard keeps your players, edits, and settings apart from the release.
  2. Choose how it runs. Set the local web port and startup options, review them, then choose Create and launch.
  3. Create your immortal. Open the printed address. The first character becomes the immortal, so create it before inviting anyone else.

A new world listens on this machine only. When you are ready for other players, follow the hosting guide.

If your system blocks it

Releases carry a publisher signature checked by the installer. They are not Apple-notarized or Windows Authenticode-signed, so a browser download may still trigger an operating-system warning.

On macOS, see Apple’s guide to opening apps safely. On Windows, see Microsoft’s SmartScreen guidance.

On Windows, run .\darkpawns.exe setup from PowerShell rather than double-clicking the executable. The installation notes describe the platform warnings seen with these releases.
