What would be helpful though, since apparently, many of these items are new for 3.0, would be a list of whether the potion is good or evil (useful or deadly). It's nice to include foul smell, or whatever in a desc for something like a potion, but it's kinda difficult to write if you don't have any idea what the thing does.\ --- ### Vargus — Thu Apr 29, 2004 12:19 am Getting started on the list..:\ some leather boots:\ Its dark brown surface shines from a recent polish.\ a leather girdle:\ Its various buckles hang down carelessly, resting upon its faded brown surface.\ a leather skirt:\ It has jagged stitchings combining various multi-colored patches of cow hide.\ a leather jacket:\ Its sleek black surface emanates an aura of coolness.\ a leather cap:\ It's made of soft, pliable sections of worn leather. Culminating in the ghastly head of a giant viper baring its fangs, the helmet gives an authoritative, intimidating apperance.\ a serpentine vest : A lightweight, scaly black vest with patches of light virescence allows more in technique and battle agility than heavy armor. The hammered links of scales are adequate to deflect slashes but can not stop a direct thrust.\ (maybe since this item is a vest rather than armor, it could be like\ armor - 20, dex 3, hitroll 3, damroll 2 rather than the heavy 17 ac breastplates and suits of armor. 17 ac on body is of course much more protection than - 20 armor what with the ac multiplier being x 3 on body).\ some serpentine greaves : (I'll write this as being a worn about legs item, because greaves are "a piece of armor worn from the ankle to the knee", unlike "some black steel greaves." Dunno how Nimos got them confused.)\ This pair of banded, spiny plates fit right over your leg protection, coiling around your calf and shin and seeming to bite right into you. Yellow serpentine wyrms have been delicately painted on the greaves, and wind their way up your ankle in draconic elegance.\ a serpentine mask : An oddly shaped, spiralling mask with hooks to attach to helmets and fit inside visors. The mask gives its owner the appearance of a King Cobra about to strike, its exposed fangs a deterrant to attacks on the face.\ --- ### Whistler — Tue May 04, 2004 10:42 pm an empty vial -\ A delicately crafted vial of clear, blown glass awaits the latest creation of some chemical mastermind.\ a purple potion -\ The deep aubergine fluid is nearly impossible to see through, although the liquid, itself, is perfectly clear.\ a vial of amber liquid -\ The thick, tacky fluid clings stiffly to the sides of the narrow vial, looking something akin to raw honey.\ a dark red elixir -\ Thick and viscous, the sanguine, crimson color of this elixir bears the claret of congealing blood.\ (contributed by Noogie)\ a dark blue elixir -\ A deep, indigo fluid swirls at the bottom of a thin, crystal vial, looking something akin to ink, but leaving no residue on the interior of the glass.\ a glowing white potion -\ If it were only a bit brighter, it would serve as an elegant light source in the dark places of the world. The vial rests lightly in your palm, sending soft shimmers of pale, white light streaming outward between your fingers.\ a vial of clear liquid -\ Though it looks clear and clean as spring water, the awful stench tells you that this definitely isn't the case.\ a vial of bubbling liquid -\ Steamy wisps waft from the top of the vial, dissipating quickly in the air, while the strange liquid continues to froth atop the thin column of creamy fluid.\ a red potion -\ A brilliant, scarlet fluid rests tantalizingly within its vial, looking something like paint from a harlot's makeup collection.\ (I'll blame Noogie for this one too, as it's the last one, and I'm REALLY tired)\ a white potion -\ A simple, white potion lies sedately within its vial. It looks fairly innocent, but sometimes looks can be deceiving.\ a green potion -\ A sickly green swill fills the vial, a thin layer of slime clinging to the surface of the fluid, while a deeper green-brown sediment collects at the bottom of the glass.\ a black potion -\ Inky black, and icy cold to the touch, this vial of deepest midnight seems to absorb all nearby light, making itself appear hidden in shadow.\ an opaque elixir -\ The fluid within the vial possess some strange property that plays havoc with the surrounding light, bending and amplifying the rays, and lending an odd opacity to the fluid.\ a vial of milky-white liquid -\ A milk-white draught resides within a slender vial. It smells faintly of something like peppermint, but appearances can be deceiving.\ a swirling red and yellow potion -\ Spiralling threads of crimsom and jasmine fluids writhe and twist like miniature serpents imprisoned within the glass vial.\ a dark yellow potion -\ A deep saffron in color, this strange potion coats the interior of its glass phial, leaving thick traces above meniscus of the fluid.\ a golden elixir -\ Viscous veins of fluid trickle down the sides of the vial as you swirl the glass between your fingers, sparkling in the light like golden threads.\ a blue potion -\ A dense fluid, in a shade of jade as deep and bright as glacier flour, rests within this phial.\ a swirling green and yellow potion -\ Thin fingers of pale green and soft yellow fluid intertwine within the phial. Though the two liquids fail to separate into distinct layers, they refuse to meld into a single substance.\ a yellow potion -\ Only a few scant drams of some pale, yellow substance lie within this slender tube.\ a bubbly amber elixir -\ Pale yellow froth accumulates at the surface of this amber amber fluid, threatening to overflow its narrow vial and pour over the sides.\ --- ### Xian — Wed May 05, 2004 11:27 am Err...last time i checked, steel bp was 13 ac -5 armor...so -20 armor might be a bit much for a vest, especially one with those other effects. The lower ac/more hr/dr idea seems good for a vest, though.\ --- ### Fred Sanford — Thu May 06, 2004 2:14 am 13 ac - 5 armor equates to 44 "defense" for a body item (13x3= 39 +5=44), which kills - 20 armor. The ac shouldn't be too high though on the near-pure gold items though, gold is a pretty soft metal. The gilded ones like the gloves could of course be any ac depending on what is under the gilt)\ some golden gloves - These are actually titanium gauntlets sprayed with a thin gilt of gold leaf. The soft cottony insides of the gloves conform to your hands, giving them adequate protection, while also being aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Tiny pads of rubber have been attached to the tips of the fingers and along the knuckles, enhancing weapon grip. (+hr possibly)\ some golden sleeves - Silvery fins have been hammered into the links of these golden chain mail sleeves and run up their sides, giving off a bright glint. The sleeves themselves are lightweight, and give a lordly appearance while providing a good balance between ease of movement and deflective strength. (maybe the fins could make these the long-awaited dr arm wear, or at least add str like golden bracers).\ some golden greaves (since a skirt exists, I'll write these as on legs rather than about legs):\ Extending from the ankle up to the knee, these bright golden greaves are designed to protect the lower legs. Although forged from thick plate mail, they are still somehow light and flexible enough to not seriously encumber travel or combat, and certainly fashionable. (maybe these could be the only -hr ,- dex, or - move gold items, since having gold around yer ankles is gonna be a tiny bit encumbering no matter what).\ a golden mask - This golden mask nearly rivals the funeral mask of the fallen King Crimson (couldn't think of a real name that would mix with the mud) in its grandeur. It is made of nearly pure gold, and instantly affords its owner a regal if gaudy appearance. Rubies have been set in each corner, and the mouth covering has been set in the visage of a seemingly impudent sneer.\ a golden neckguard - A curved golden plate which has been designed to fit between cuirass and visor, protecting the exposed neck. While its design is simple, it has been fashioned from rare, valuable gold, and a splendorous coat of arms with a white knight and griffin has been virtuosically emblazoned in its center.\ a golden skirt - A series of gilded iron scales have been forged to make this gleaming golden skirt. Fitting nicely underneath your waist wear and over your leg wear, the beautiful metallic kilt is tough enough to take serious punishment and malleable enough to allow unrestricted dexterity.\ ---
